Determination
The word championship just gets in everyone's head. They think, no mistakes. I can't mess up. The game of basketball isn't just a game to see who makes more baskets. Well, it is, but basketball is really a game of who can make the least mistakes(turnovers). Basketball teaches you life lessons that nothing else in the world can teach you in one sport. It teaches you determination. You're determined to win. You're determined to score or reach a goal you made at the beginning of the season. You're determined to make it as far in playoffs as you can. You have to believe in yourself and push forward. Never back down. Never give up. Strive to be more than you imagined.

Motivation By My Coach
This motivates me for everything. My coach's words. By:Ron Moore
I’ve asked myself " How do I eliminate the wasted energy, and unnecessary mistakes to build a cohesive and a successful team that can play within its strengths?"
Sometimes you have your clearest thoughts during some odd hours. These are mine in essence:
1. Victory favors the team making the fewest mistakes.
2. Mistakes I’ve sought to eliminate were poor ballhandling, bad shots, slow recovery from offense to defense, bad fouls and poor foul shooting, for blocking out, uncoordinated defense.
3. If you play with passion you are more likely to play with precision.
4. The difference is not that the winner wanted it more than the loser did.
5. Discipline is recognizing what has to be done, doing it as well as you can do it, and doing it that way all the time.
6. Its important to have a plan to recover after a loss, to learn from a loss, to eliminate those things that caused the loss.
7. Bad calls, injuries or unusual occurrences are not the reason for losses mistakes are.
8. The mark of success or failure in handling victory is what happens the next timeout
9. Don't let the upcoming game take away what you earned the last game.
10. Success is a grind, its perseverance, it is operating at a high level of performance on a constant basis
11. Asking questions is the essence of learning
12. There isn't always a right way and wrong way that there's usually a higher percentage way.
13. Players need to recognize what they can do in games and good as they can at it. Recognize what they don't do well now, but that they can do well with work. And finally recognize what they cannot do now or and will never be able to do.
14. I try to think about why we won in a similar way that I think about why we lost.
15. Pardon one offense and you encourage the commission of many.
